Abstract :

Malaysia is a country that is blessed with natural resources and equipped with facilities that cater to variety of events and leisure. Malaysia is a developing country and yet it had hosted numerous events. The event industry in Malaysia is in demand. In order to find out the factors that can affect the progress of the event industry in Malaysia, this study was conducted. This study adopts the business environment theory which is the external and internal environment. These external and internal factors were determined and used as variables. The external factors are economy, politic, and technology. The internal factors are communication and people. This study seeks to find out if these external and internal factors affect the progress of the event industry in Malaysia. This topic of research is important to the event industry in Malaysia because it helps the event industry in Malaysia to know the general factors that will affect the overall industry. Reviewing numerous literature reviews especially on this topic and by using the method of online questionnaires on a sample of 210 respondents that are related to the event industry in Malaysia, it is to find out and determine which external and internal factors affect the progress of the event industry in Malaysia.
